il y a 13 heuresI wouldn’t say that the reserves were used because the front line was insufficient. Russian defense in depth is meant to absorb attacks and have mobile units move to points of contact.

il y a 13 heuresThe only reason why Poland is sending troops to fight Russia in Ukraine is because Ukraine is losing men and equipment at a unsustainable rate. I am wondering if the Polish expats across Europe will be recalled back to Poland to fight the Russians? The EU must be regretting not honouring the Minsk agreement.

il y a 7 heuresAt this point the counter offensive is going so poorly the Western media seems to be denying it started. I guess we’ll see how that plays out.

il y a 13 heuresIt is very interesting that the Russians were forced to send their reserves from Tokmak into the direction of Orikhiv, because this indicates a much stronger Ukrainian attack than anywhere else. Perhaps this is the beginning of the Ukrainian main attack, as the route towards Tokmak and Melitopol is the most valuable one. However, I would have expected to see Bradleys and Leopards to spearhead the main attack and this has not yet happened. Furthermore, there are several lines of defense between Orikhiv and Tokmak, so even Ukrainian advances and the capture of certain heights don´t mean decisive breakthroughs.Lire la suite

il y a 13 heuresRF retreats so artillery can shell UA as they advance and get happy with their miniscule gains, then UA infantry gets blown to smithereens and runs back with what is left of the brigade to regroup and then RF re-takes their original positions.

il y a 11 heures (modifié)At this point it’s become clear as Sunday that the Ukrainians didn’t have any « brilliant » master plan in Kherson and Kharkov. The Russians had a minimal artillery contingent there that was pretty widely dispersed along the forest belts, with a few infantry platoons in reserve. Hardly any mechanized units. They were way fewer in numbers than the mobile Ukrainian units and despite that they still got a whole bunch of them. As opposed to then…*this* is what a proper defense line looks like.Lire la suite
