il y a 3 joursI immensely appreciate Mearsheimer’s courage to express his views straightforwardly. Calling the Israeli project in Gaza ethnic cleansing is spot on.

il y a 3 jours (modifié)The Duran is a treasure, informational and ethically wise. Professor Mearsheimer is a deluxe guest. I’m a big fan of Alexander Mercouris solo program also. Cheers!

il y a 3 joursIndeed, the US has told Israel, « You can’t do that » (ethnic cleansing) – all the while handing Israel an endless supply of weapons and political cover to ethnically cleanse with.

il y a 2 joursThe Russians are not intoxicated. They have been lied to enough times and the other side have made their intentions very clear. The Russians tried several avenues to avoid this war, you can’t blame for taking this hard stance.

il y a 2 joursIn the second half of this podcast, Glenn Diesen states that Ukraine has been a sovereign country for 30 years and, by now, has developed its own unique identity (and Russians just don’t get it). Where would we be without the academics? All three men here are highly erudite and intelligent, yet, like all intellectuals, they sometimes forget to check themselves on this one important topic—universally and invariably, there is a HUGE difference between an urban population and the countryside (which is actually, the name of the country, O-kraina, the Land Around). While the younger people in Kiev and other larger cities have grown up with the perception of being a unique European nation, the folks in the vast areas of Steppe and forest steppe do not feel like that at all. They couldn’t care less about Europe. They do not have this « Ukrainian identity, » all being completely intermarried and speaking a variety of local dialects (though they often insist they speak Russian). These countryfolk’s historical, cultural, and spiritual identity is the same and their ethnic identity is exceptionally FLUID. They tell their kids the same myths, sing the same songs, being conscious of the old pre-Christian calendar. Even in Kiev, just before the war, everyone spoke either only Russian or switched between the languages with every sentence. The pathological nationalism is a very recent phenomenon and did not affect the vast majority of non-urban, not college-educated population. The three men here speak about « ethnic Ukrainians, » but who are they? Western Ukraine is populated by the people who posses Polish and Austro-Hungarian identity (and all speak fluent Polish, btw, and dream of Mama Austria, a culturally superior land in their minds); they consider eastern Ukrainians Moskali, that is, Moscow people, aka the Orgs or Tartars. In the past 20 years, the Ukrainian language spoken in Kiev has acquired so many Polish words that people who had left it a while ago can barely understand it now. Currently, Ukrainian language is also being created. Since the interviews of the Ukrainians we hear are being translated into English, there is no understanding that even the frontline soldiers speak a Russian dialect, among themselves as well. Or both, Russian and Ukrainian.Lire la suite

il y a 3 joursIf we are to accept the justifications for the Israeli / US actions in Gaza, then the actions that define the ‘Good Guys,’ are pretty much the same as used to identify the ‘bad guys.’ For some it’s confusing. For others puzzling, but for more & more of the world it’s simply outrageous.

il y a 2 joursMearsheimer is an idealist about people in power that they always act logically and simply in their interest. He ignores pure cruelty and hate that hides in their subconscious mixed with frustrated power hunger.

il y a 3 joursThis is a very hard-hitting and honest discussion, especially about the terrible attitudes of the Israeli leadership towards the Palestinians. It’s eerily and frighteningly similar to the way the NAZI leadership thought about… Jews! This is an absolutely awful development, with potentially ghastly consequencs for both sides. If the Israelis are ready to massacre 50,000 Palestinians in Gaza, what kind of people will they have become? A leadership ready and willing to commit what looks, sounds, and smells… like genocide and a population following this criminal leadership towards Armageddon.

il y a 2 joursThank you John for telling the truth about why Jeremy Corbyn was eliminated in our politics here in the UK. It was the biggest mistake the British people made not electing him and many of us on the left knew this immediately. He has been vindicated by time and the terrible degradation of our nation.
