il y a 2 joursI lived in China during the Mid Nineteen Nineties and Western companies especially from the U.S were moving there manufacturing operations into China’s Guangdong Province predominantly. Factories were going up at a rate that anyone who was not there, would be hard to imagine. Literally 24 hours a day 7 days a week these factories were going up all over China to accommodate the rate of Western Business that were moving there. I lived in Chengdu, Sichuan and it was no different there. I had access Deng Xiaoping closest advisors. Even though Jiang Zemin was President of China at the time, Deng Xiaoping was considered the Supreme Leader of China. Philosophically China liked and believed in the ideals of Communism, but they were not Dogmatic about it. Under Deng Xiaoping it was lifting the masses out of poverty. Unlike the U.S and the West who EVIDENTLY could not carless about its masses. China’s standard of living is Rising while ours is falling. China’s life expectancy is rising our is falling, China influence on the World Stage is also Rising , while U.S influence is waning. We created our own mess.Lire la suite

il y a 2 joursI remember Madelaine Albright whining about how it’s not fair that Russia should have all of its wealth and natural resources. It eas, in fact, during her reign at the State Department that the US began expanding NATO eastwards, not to « spread democracy » as Prof. Mearsheimer claims but to contain Russia, to prevent its economic development. Prof. Sachs is much more forthright on this. In the end, what motivates the American foreign policy towards Russia is insatiable corporate greed and the American lust for power, neither of which have anything to do with either democracy or freedom.Lire la suite
