il y a 12 heuresI think Mearsheimer’s understanding of Jolani’s statements about Russia and Iran are spot-on. It is so refreshing listening to an expert that actually ‘gets it’.

il y a 14 heuresI moved to China 11 years ago and I have to say that I don’t know anybody here who is experiencing any of the classic symptoms of significant economic problems. Inflation is low to none existent. Personal debt does not seem to be on the rise. The essentials of life remain extremely affordable even to those on very low incomes. There is no homelessness. Crime and antisocial behaviour continue to be a small fraction of that in western countries. The scale and pace of development continues to be in a different league to the vast malority of the world. It’s almost as if someone is making stuff up to deflect from their own failings.

il y a 8 heuresSir, I am in China now, and I don’t think Chinese economy is in much trouble. The biggest trouble might be the much higher expectations people used to have. Western propaganda seems to have a false hope of breaking down Chinese economy via loudspeakers.

il y a 12 heures (modifié)I always knew he was anti-Chinese but suffering? Their GDP increase this year is more than 4,8 percent, and the US is 2,8 percent, so who is suffering? Who has border crises, more than 8 million illegals, a divided society, and debt increase yearly at a rate of 3-4 trillion dollars, using 38 percent of all tax money to pay this year’s interest. it is like comparing Amtrak with Maglev as it is a real comparison between these two societies today, The US has an outdated power grid, and Amtrak is outdated as carrier, the US has not one Maglev all money has gone to war

il y a 15 heuresAs an expat living in China for the past 15 years, i don’t see these critical political & economical problems … no country is perfect but i can not see economical problems that are fundamental and would cause a collapse like Gordon Chang has been saying for the past 20 years…

il y a 14 heuresWe had not just crossed the 38th parallel, we were only a short distance from the Yalu River led by the war-monger, Douglas MacArthur. Remember, he led the US Cavalry to stomp the bonus marchers, impoverished WW1 vets, demanding their promised bonuses in 1932. Gen. MacArthur threatened the Chinese with invasion. Instead, the Chinese swept down on our badly prepared soldiers who had to flee for their lives.

il y a 8 heuresExactly what ‘economic problems’ is China suffering from? Their economy is still growing at around 5% a year (better than anywhere in the West), wages and living standards continue to rise and China has not experienced a recession in at least 35 years – if EVER! That’s what happens when a country actually manages its economy properly, in the interests of its entire population!

il y a 14 heuresChina broke the trade record last year, they have managed to export 1 trillion $ more than they have imported over the year, and they have sustained growth of 5%, which is astonishing for the economy that large. So they probably do have some problems in the economy, but they are miniscule in the overall picture.

il y a 5 heures (modifié)I have not lived a single year where western analysts did not claim that the chinese economy is in trouble and about to collapse. Yet all at the same time any time you look back a few years the chinese economy has grown alot from where it was those years before. Something’s not adding up here. How can the pie constantly be shrinking, yet always end up being larger than before every time I look?
