In an interview with SKAI TV, former Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis said that, during his time in office, he had managed to secure an agreement with China for an investment, including into Greek bonds, but “this agreement was overturned with a phone call from Berlin.” He also confirmed that he had outlined a plan to introduce a parallel payment system and for Greece to default on €27bn in Greek bonds held by the ECB.
